I would be remiss if I did not take some time to address the oil spill in the Gulf coast. I am HUGE about holding people accountable, professionally and personally, as we cannot ever be honest with ourselves until we hold ourselves accountable in EVERY situation that we find ourselves in. No finger pointing. No denial. No “but if”… I did it… I released that oil into the Gulf. By the demand I have for oil in my life, those I support, and those who are affected by it either directly or directly. For all those who are or were in a position to make money on the stock, commodities, cruide oil. Those who worked the rig and took the paycheck, those engineers who didn’t anticipate a worst case scenario. The CEO’s and employees who want to play down this catastrophe and make light or not step up with an all out effort, still thinking about the costs. Still trying to do image control. The best commercial was the one I saw today with the head guy apologizing. I know it is not ‘enough’, but at least it was straight-forward, informing us of what IS being done. If we do not learn from this, and change our ways, and clean up our act, and become informed about alternative fuels and pay a little more to conserve and use green alternatives, we are just as guilty. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Unchecked demand and greed will ALWAYS bring a downfall of the individuals involved. So, check yourself, find a way to help with the oil spill, change your ways, in small or large ways, and together we CAN make a difference.
