Question for ya’… Do you have past hurts that you are still holding on to after days, months or years? Do you find yourself unable to enjoy the promise of today or tomorrow for something that happened yesterday? Or even a year or two or more ago? It is time to clear out your mental closet. Some of those people are no longer even in your life. They are faint memories that you inspire with emotion when you think of them. Know what you can do? STOP THINKING OF THEM! :) Ever have someone say “It sure hurts when I poke this spot! Owww!” Simple Answer: stop poking it! It really is that simple… If you feel your thoughts gravitate toward situations that are unpleasant, YOU have control over those thoughts. Picture the STOP sign and “turn around” mentally and think of something else more positive – wherever your quiet spot in the world might be, think of it. Is it the beach? The mountains? When it is cool? Or when the sun is beating down warmly on your skin? Imagine that instead. If the person is still within your life who has hurt, neglected, disappointed or otherwise let you down, this takes extra time to work through your issues with that person because they are still around and in some cases, still disappointing or not being the person you hoped that they ’some day’ might become. Mentally wipe the slate clean. Picture yourself physically wiping your mental slate clean and clear so that you can appreciate that person as they are now. Let the past go. Just let it go. Feel yourself feeling lighter, fresher and clean and clear inside. Close your eyes and feel yourself letting the negativity go, let whatever has been go, let today be today as though you just met them for the first time. Appreciate who they are. Appreciate what they bring to your life. Forgive them for whatever has been and think how YOU can contribute to making life better between you and them. Do this daily until you feel refreshed and light when you think of them. When you have, you have loosed yourself of the anchor around your life and emotions. Do this as long as you need to until there is NO effect and YOU control what you feel and think about. You can do this for any area that you want to find release and relief. Change your mind – change your life! It really is that simple.
