Reflecting today, Labor Day, about the ability to do what you love and love what you do, and find a way to get paid to do it. Imagine the world for a moment, if everyone did what they loved doing and received income from it. Those who loved to help, would be able to help others. Those who loved to engineer would design and create phenomenal structures of the world. Those who loved music and art would create great masterpieces! Everyone would have a niche, the populations of the world would not only survive, but thrive, and business, culture, art, and every facet of life would flourish because those “doing their thing” would do it, do it well and never tire of giving their very best to society. It is when we are faced with ‘earning a living’, that we give our very souls away and stump our creativity and ingenuity to support someone’s else’s dream and vision of the world along with their pocket books while starving our own. I don’t believe our Founding Fathers and Mothers of our great Country envisioned such an end as that which we have mired ourselves in white and blue collar slavery when they founded it. They talked of liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and worked to create boundless opportunity – not the day-to-day drudgery that most call their daily lives. Work to live your dreams – don’t just work to work…. Enjoy your Labor Day!
