It is crucial in this day and time to look to see what you CAN do and what needs to be done around you. As Obama clearly stated “look for opportunities”. Have a hobby? Start your own website or business. Help someone else start one. Find creative ways to continue to use your talent. The worst of times create the greatest opportunities if you can but recognize them. Be aware – remain alert and step into it when the opportunity presents itself.
If you are unemployed, look for ways to give back to your community through donating some of your time and expertise to help within our community. This not only gives you the opportunity to give of yourself, it provides you with the opportunity to network with like-minded people who may have a job or knows someone who is looking for someone just like you. If we all pull together, help each other through these times, it will be better all the way around. You cannot control the big picture, but you can make a difference in your own back yard, in the life of a child, in the life of a senior, in the life of your kids and your family and with your friends and acquaintances. Do what you can where you can. Although you may feel powerless at this moment, there are gifts and resources within you that someone else needs. Help them; help yourself; do for others even if you can’t do for yourself right now. Find ways. Get involved. Network. Help. Encourage others to do the same. Encourage the discouraged. Touch a life today. Make a difference because I KNOW you can…!
