These subtle changes that you want to implement in your life … they are so important. It is important to hold yourself accountable to yourself for the change that you seek. Check yourself every day as to whether you are taking the steps you have committed to in order to achieve them. Even if you do not achieve them 100% of every single day, you will want to stop and take a moment to ask yourself “why didn’t I?” This is the self observation that is needed for you to understand those thoughts and actions that keep you from remaining consistent toward your goals. Learning to VALUE yourself, respect yourself, care for yourself, these are often some of the hardest pieces to put into the puzzle of our lives. Sometimes this is especially difficult for women. But I think that men also have an equally difficult time reverting from the care taking or being taken care of role, to one who looks inward to the needs within his/her soul, body, mind and spirit. All of us have a challenge with slowing down enough to tune in to what our needs might be. We are too busy tending to work, home lives, children, parents, family, friends, going here and there, trying to keep up, trying to get ahead, trying to keep life and limb together just enough to “be happy”. (BTW, happy is a most temporary state of mind if you find it external to yourself.) What is most important to realize is that often it is just in THE MOMENT, the here and now, that we find the most joy, the most peace by listening to the sounds around us, then narrowing it down further to the voice within us. For to look backward can cause regret or pain. To look forward can cause anxiety or stress of the unknown. You know “now”. You can feel “now”. So be present “now” and tune in to YOU for a moment. Relish the movement in your body, the thoughts that come to your mind as you free yourself from the self-imposed pressures of your world. Take a deep breath. Then another. Then another and “just be”… (Do it, don’t just read it and close the blog…) Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, very good!
To Your Success!
