In light of the recent tragedies of losing many life’s legends and rock icons (Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, David Carradine, Karl Mauldin), doesn’t it make you stop and think ‘how certain is life?” The answer that we all know but rush past daily is “not at all”. Life clocks stop suddenly every second of every day and people continue to be amazed for some reason. We are all born terminal and yet are shocked when The Grim Reaper adds one (unexpectedly?) to his fold. We live and go at a pace that says we, and everyone around us, will live forever. We take our loved ones for granted and forget to tell them how much they mean to us in the frantic pace of our lives. We treat our kids like they will be there tomorrow to spend the time with them that we promised them last week. We live our own lives as though we have a guarantee of 87-88 solid, healthy years and are surprised when the aches and pains of age rob of us of the ability to do X, Y or Z, those things that we put off for too long and now are unable to do.

The lesson? Treat each day as the present that it is because that is why it is called “the present”. It is the only day you can live so live it as though it were your last. You never know when it could be…. And some day, it will be. Encourage others to do the same. Share this link with your friends, family and loved ones so they will stop for a moment and savor the opportunity that life and living provides – today.

Live Abundantly!
