Some day you will draw your last breath. Where will you be? What will you be doing? Have you ever considered that before? I have and it often brings about a smile to my face at the shock and amazement that could be rendered if it were right NOW for me. Or exactly in an hour? LOL
Have you ever considered how each and every one of us is terminal? All those around us are as well. We come into this life without the remotest possibility of surviving beyond our life’s cycle and seem to act like we are going to live forever and fully fool ourselves into believing until we stop and really think about it logicallky . Yet when we face death, or illness which could represent death, we often act surprised, shocked, saddened and defiant . But factually, it is as inevitable as summer follows spring. We’re ultra intelligent beings and yet we even work very hard to delude ourselves! We don’t see what we see. We don’t accept that things could be going the wrong way. We remain ever hopeful, ever believing of returning health even in the face of unfathomable odds. Why is that? We don’t want to imagine gaps in our families and painful but cherished memories. Was this really as was intended for our lives to be? Remaining in self-inflicted ignorant bliss until painful realities set in? I don’t really think so but it is so pervasive, it makes one stop an wonder.
I leave you with, what will be your legacy? What will people remember you for? And where will you be?
To a fulfilling life and an acknowledgement and acceptance of the inevitable expiration date on all of our lives!
