Lately I’ve been hearing a red bird every morning. Today I actually stopped to listen. For the past couple of months all I’ve heard is the incessant chirping. At first it was annoying as all. Then when I saw the bird and realized it was a red bird and how beautiful it was, my attitude changed (somewhat). Now I am listening for it in the morning when I wake up. At first all of the chirping sounded the same. But as I listened more closely, I could hear the subtle differences in what it was “saying”. Some of the cadences were similar; some very different. I listened for the rhythm. I even started counting them to see if they were the same. It was then that I realized that every “chirp” was different and how they were interchanged to form “bird conversations”. Have you ever wondered what the birds were saying? Have you ever stopped long enough to listen? If you haven’t, maybe it is time for you to take a break, slow down and listen. Listen to what nature has to say just for a moment. What do you hear? If you are running past the birds, most likely you could be also running past your spouse’s, children’s, family’s or friend’s words. And if you are running past their words, you are certainly running past their non-verbals as their faces fall when you do not pay them the attention and concern that they desire from you.
Take a moment and listen…. You’ll be amazed at what you hear.
